Meet Our Pastor & The Founders of GTCC                                                                                      Pastor Tyrone & First Lady Benita Tillman

Pastor Tyrone Tillman comes to Grace Tabernacle Christian Center as the Founding Father and Pastor.  He was born and raised in Raeford, North Carolina, the oldest of 6 children born to Mr. James & Mrs. Esther Tillman.  He completed his high school education in the Hoke County Public School Systems graduating with the class of 1974 He furthered his education by attending Wingate College where he received an Associate of Science Degree in Business Management. Pastor Tillman also holds a Bachelors Degree in Theology; a Bachelors in Pastoral Studies and a Master’s of Divinity Degree.

Pastor Tillman was called into ministry and began preaching in 1980. After hearing God and responding to the ‘call of God’ he was sent to Pastor the Grace Tabernacle Christian Center in 1986.  With this vision from God, he was obedient and began to establish the work.  Pastor Tillman has a heart for family. He aspires to reach the young and the elderly.  He desires to see the family both married and single, reach their full potential in Christ while being an example to the world on how a ‘Christian family’ should be. 

Pastor Tillman believes and teaches that Evangelism is the heartbeat of ministry. Because of this, he is very active in the community. Being full-time in ministry, he is available to assist those that call upon him.  God has gifted him and anointed him to be such an influence in the Body of Christ and to others that are in contact with him. He is a man of prayer; one who teaches the unadulterated Word of God.                                                                                                                                                    

  Pastor Tillman is married to the beautiful Mrs. Benita Scriven- Tillman. Lady Benita Tillman also completed her high school education in the Hoke County School System with the class of 1974. She furthered her education at Winston-Salem State University and Fayetteville State University.  She, being in administration in the Robeson County School System, holds a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education; a Master in Education (Special), also a Masters degree in Supervision and Administration and Curriculum Specialist from UNC at Pembroke.

First Lady Benita Tillman, serves on the Board of Directors, Overseer of the S.A.F.E. Women’s Ministry, and assists in teaching our Youth. She is available whenever and wherever she needed in ministry. She is knowledgeable, dedicated; a true woman in her own right.  She is a great help to Pastor Tillman and the many departments in the Body of Christ. God has truly anointed her to be a Pastor’s WIFE, indeed.

TOGETHER they are the proud parents of four beautiful children, Shenitta, Bryan Tyron, Benidra TyRee’, and Brandon Thomas. They have been blessed with five grandchildren: Shalecia, Kenna, Triumph, Bryianna, Bryan Jr.

TOGETHER they are dedicated to building the Kingdom of God. Their passion for Christ and His people flows through out the ministries at GTCC. Their desire includes seeing the lost come to Jesus while teaching believers to become disciples of Jesus Christ and growing in maturity to conquer their full purpose and potential in life.
